Woodcut No.1 was crafted with select hops and malted barley on Odell Brewing’s five barrel brewing system. After fermentation, the beer was chilled and then transferred to the oak barrels for aging. As the beer matures, the wood imparts many complex flavors and aromas. Hints of vanilla, almonds and dried fruits compliment the caramel malt sweetness of this oak-aged ale.

The sweetness keeps on coming in the taste, but the initial taste is sweet caramel malts and brown sugar. The oak can't be held back for long though and the finish is just full of oaky tannins, vanilla and even a hint of woody spiciness. - Beer Advocate
