Wellspring, a dry hopped saison, is a special Roots Release beer found only in our Fall~Winter Montage variety pack. It has notes of clove and banana with a touch of pepper character like most saisons, but the dry hopped character shines with hints of earthy floral hop aroma and flavor. Our friends at MouCo Cheese recently paired it with their new PepBert, a camembert with green pepper corns, and it was glorious.
Isolation Ale also returns, just as we’ve seen the first snow on the mountain peaks west of us. This winter warmer has a rich malt base that finishes with a subtle spiciness that comes only from the hops used. Isolation is also an amazing beer to cook with. From cakes and pies, to hearty chili, and even sweet potatoes, this brew adds depth to many recipes.
Finally, as we fall back from daylight savings time, we welcome the darkness. And by that I mean, Mountain Standard Double Black IPA, a deceptively dark and delicious brew that may just have you howling at the moon. Mountain Standard was named for the time zone in which we live (and brew). Check out the label art and you’ll see a sinister moon chasing away the sun, and two “1’s” on the clock for the time change.
