It has been our busiest summer yet! In the midst of our latest and greatest expansion, we have been working hard at endorsing the House That Beer Built; our wonderful collaboration with 7 other breweries in Fort Collins and our local Habitat for Humanity chapter. Our partner family, the Andrasiks, are a lovely bunch that lost their home in last year’s devastating High Park Fire. It has been a real treat to get up into Rist Canyon on our build days. Sadly the flood of 2013 slowed down our progress and Candace and her kiddos (Chase, Jackson and Adele) aren’t going to be able to move in by Thanksgiving but we are still working at coordinating with the other breweries to get them home by Christmas. We’ve seen amazing community outpouring with teams heading up to build like our local Kiwanis chapter and the always-amazing Otters with OtterCares! The House is around halfway done with all of the fun detail work inside to finish up. Please watch our Odell Outreach FaceBook page if you would like to get up there and help!
The flood in mid-September was so devastating to Northern Colorado we have been doing our best to keep up with the outpouring of support from our community in the way of fundraisers throughout town and our neighboring communities. We have donated kegs to the Lyric Cinema for their movie night fundraiser, Crankenstein, Hodi’s Half Note, and Oskar Blues to name just a few. We are looking to host a beer pairing dinner here at the brewery using as many locally sourced goods as possible coming up soon with 100% of ticket sales going toward flood relief. Please watch for that on our Odell Outreach page as well!
We have hosted a number of events this fall, a donor appreciation event for the Red Cross, a wrap party for the Alzheimer’s Walk, a fundraiser for the Symphony and multiple board and strategic planning meetings for the PSD School Gardens, FoCo Café and US Green Builders’ Guild to name a few. We have a number of events coming up; The Growing Project and Bike Coop will host volunteer appreciation parties here over the next couple of weeks, and CSU Snowriders and Save the Poudre will both host fundraisers including after-hours beers and ski videos to get us all excited for the winter!
